DO YOU THINK IS TIME TO CHANGE THE CHAPTER OF YOUR LIFE AND YOU NEED A SUPPORT TO DO IT?
As a psychologist and a modern individual as well, I believe theory doesn’t make the difference in life I’m here to inform you that some of the above feelings used to be part of my daily life in my past. Whatever theory I got all these years never took me out of my personal prison. On the contrary what really inspired me was to have my teachers my mentors, healers as a real example of true guidance in a safe path, that they had already crossed and I was feeling secure and inspired to follow and reach at the other side of the river where they were already. Yoga philosophy as well taught me how to overcome all these obstacles and gave me the magical skills and keys to set myself free and shift my life from the misery side to the enjoyable side of the river. Now I know how to be happy and I feel happier to share with you those tools that show you the way, how you can also work to get your own freedom, your own happiness!
If you are ready just make the first step and I’ll be right there to share my knowledge and experience with you! If I did it you can definitely do it as well!
Maria Deligianni is a:
* Psychologist
* Systemic Family Counsellor
* Theta Healer Practitioner (by Vaiana Stibal’s system)
* Yoga Instructor
* Owner of ”Breath of Life” Yoga and Wellness Center
* Creator of Sruti Path – The Path of Inner Listening
She is a mother of two adult children and has been working in psychotherapy with children, adults, and families in Athens and Crete since 1991. As a Psychologist and Systemic Family Counsellor, she understands each person within the context of their relationships, family history, and the environment in which they live.
Her work focuses on exploring recurring relationship patterns, the roles we take on, and the beliefs we develop through our experiences. Within a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and acceptance, she supports each person in gaining a deeper understanding of their difficulties, recognising their needs, and developing healthier ways of communicating and connecting with others.
The systemic family perspective forms the foundation of her holistic approach, which considers thoughts, emotions, the body, and relationships. She is the creator of Sruti Path – The Path of Inner Listening, through which she cultivates self-observation and connection with personal experience. Meditation and body-awareness practices complement and enrich her work.
In 2006, she founded “Breath of Life” Center for Communication, Creative Expression and Relaxation in Crete, bringing together therapeutic work, education, and experiential learning.
She is currently based in Athens, offering sessions both in person and online. Drawing on her professional knowledge and personal experience, and respecting each person’s uniqueness, she supports their journey towards self-awareness, autonomy, and more fulfilling relationships.
The Holistic Approach
Maria’s holistic approach, Sruti Path – The Path of Inner Listening, has developed through her studies and experience in Western psychology and Eastern contemplative traditions. The systemic family perspective forms the foundation of her therapeutic work and is enriched by practices that cultivate awareness of the body, emotions, and inner experience.
From this perspective, a symptom is understood within the broader context of a person’s life. Alongside addressing present difficulties, the therapeutic process explores the experiences, relationships, and patterns that may contribute to their emergence or persistence.
Our place within the family system, our personal history, the beliefs we carry, and the ways we experience emotions in the body all deserve attention. Exploring these interconnected aspects helps shape a therapeutic direction that responds to each person’s needs and life circumstances.
Self-awareness is central to this process. Therapy offers a supportive space in which individuals can recognise their recurring patterns, understand their needs, and explore new ways of responding to life’s challenges.
The aim is to strengthen autonomy, self-confidence, and the capacity to make conscious choices. This includes recognising both personal possibilities for change and the relationships and external circumstances that influence the individual’s life.
Alongside emotional support, therapy offers practical tools for self-observation, emotional regulation, communication, and setting boundaries. Where appropriate, meditation and body-awareness practices can complement this work, helping individuals strengthen their connection with their own experience and draw on their own strengths.
This approach encourages active participation and self-inquiry. The therapeutic relationship provides a foundation upon which individuals can gradually develop the understanding and skills that will support them in their daily lives, beyond their sessions.
Meaningful therapeutic work requires professional knowledge, experience, ethical responsibility, compassion, understanding, and empathy.
Intuition, when grounded in professional knowledge, experience, and attentive listening, can also enrich the therapeutic process. It can help the therapist recognise connections between the individual’s experiences and sensitively explore, together with that person, feelings or needs that have not yet been expressed in words. The therapist’s impressions are explored collaboratively with the individual, without being treated as established truths.
Throughout the therapeutic process, the individual’s understanding of their own experience, their personal choices, and their own pace remain central. Within this relationship, each person is supported in discovering what gives their life meaning and in developing greater self-awareness, autonomy, and more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others.
